POLICE are selling a questionable amount of clothes with ‘security tag holes’ in them on eBay this week.

The designer gear, mostly from Ralph Lauren, could have been stolen from a shop and then seized by Thames Valley Police officers in an investigation.

Seized goods are usually stored for a while and if noone comes forward to claim them, officers decide whether to bin them, donate them or sell them.

The Thames Valley Police (TVP) eBay page is where all of the selling pile ends up.

Everything gets listed at 99p before buyers battle in bids to get a bargain.

Usually designer goods end up being sold at a fraction of the retail value.

While it is not illegal to purchase the stolen gear, there is a catch.

All winners of the sales must trek to Milton Keynes to collect their goodies.

Unlike most sellers TVP explicitly state that they will not send anything in the post.
