CYCLISTS can look forward to a new route for a popular bike ride.

Sign up for Bike Oxford 2020 is now open, and organisers say that places are already selling fast.

New for this year is the opportunity to start and finish at either Oxford University Rugby Club or Chipping Norton Rugby Club.

One thousand cyclists will take part in one of three rides on Sunday, May 31.

Richard Best, event director at Bike Oxford, said: "The idea behind Bike Oxford has always been to provide something for everyone.

"The short route was designed with families, new cyclists, and cycle-commuters looking to spend an enjoyable day trying out cycling for leisure in mind.

"For regular cyclists or those looking for something more adventurous, we have designed longer routes of around 50 and 80 miles to take in some of the more challenging lanes across Oxfordshire’s countryside.

"We are delighted to offer cyclists to the west of the County the chance to join us with our additional start and finish at Chipping Norton Rugby Club."
