A WOMAN who was banned from calling 101 and 999 after repeatedly 'harassing' the emergency services will now have mental health treatment for six months.

Ella Syme, of Ray Road in Bicester, had previously been given a restraining order at Oxford Magistrates Court on January 23, 2019 in a bid to stop her wasting police time.

But having made another 10 calls to the emergency services the 33-year-old appeared back in the dock nearly a year later, on December 17, to be sentenced.

She admitted breaching her restraining order between March 23 and May 7 last year to call Thames Valley Police when there was 'no genuine emergency'.

She was also sentenced for three further offences during the period of her suspended sentence including 'persistently' using a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience and anxiety as well as assaulting a police officer and being in possession of a knife in a public place on December 5, 2018.

As well as mental health treatment at the Warneford Hospital she was also fined £300 and must pay costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £85. The suspended sentence was not activated because of her 'good progress'.
