AN EXHIBITION will update residents on the new multi-million pound West Way Square development in Botley.

The new facilities called West Way Square are being created by The Botley Development Company, a joint venture between Mace Developments and Doric Properties.

Developers said in January the new complex, featuring new shops, a new Premier Inn hotel, postgraduate accommodation, new apartments and offices, would open in stages throughout the year.

On Thursday residents will get a briefing on the latest stages of the development.

A new community centre, featuring an improved library and the local Baptist church, has already opened.

West Way Community Concern residents’ group in its latest newsletter has highlighted the exhibition.

It said: “Botley Development Company (Mace) will be holding a public exhibition on Thursday from 4pm to 7.30pm in Seacourt Hall, 3 Church Way, Botley.

“This is intended to update residents on progress and next steps at West Way Square including Phase 2 of the scheme (the residential Block A on the corner of West Way and Westminster Way).

"The project team will be available to answer any questions and feedback forms will be available for attendees to submit their comments. All residents are welcome to attend.”

Businesses in Elms Parade have urged shoppers to support them, particularly while development work is ongoing as it has affected parking in the area.

The Premier Inn will have 123 bedrooms.
