AN OXFORD-BASED company is celebrating 10 years offering management services to firms spending £50,000 to £2m a year on business travel.

Corporate Traveller Oxford has spent the last decade supporting a number of major clients, including Glomaco, a world leader in concrete machinery, and Global Engage, who run life science conferences and training sessions.

The Oxford team also looks after clients in the pharmaceuticals, healthcare, retail, agriculture, biotechnology, media and sports sectors.

In recent weeks staff have stepped in to help clients who have been forced to change their plans by Storm Ciara and the Coronavirus.

The Oxford team, based in Queen Street, has notched up 65 years of service between them, which means staff truly understand their client’s business travel needs and preferences, from complex travel arrangement and cost savings on flights and hotels to offsetting carbon emissions and providing 24/7 support in an emergency.

Corporate Traveller doesn’t just go the extra mile for its customers, it also cares about its staff - this includes flexible working to suit families and promoting equality and inclusivity.

Charitable causes and community initiatives play a key role in Corporate Traveller’s ethos.

This year Corporate Traveller staff voted Age UK as their chosen charity. Any funds they raise are matched pound for pound by the company’s Head Office.

Client feedback demonstrates how much they value the relationship with their expert travel consultant, as shown in a 95 per cent plus average customer satisfactory survey.

Meanwhile, staff feedback has highlighted how the Oxford team take pride in solving business travel challenges and always going that extra mile; like those who logged in over the weekend to help stranded travellers who have been affected by storms and Coronavirus.

Paul Longman, team manager for Corporate Traveller Oxford, commented on the company’s first 10 years, saying: “It’s incredible how technology has changed over the last decade and we now provide customers with online solutions to make booking business travel easier and travel apps to support them with duty of care and traveller safety.

“But at the heart of our business is service – and that hasn’t changed.

"Customers want the technology at their fingertips, but they also still want the one-to-one relationship with us as their expert travel consultants.”

First established in the UK in 1999, by parent company Flight Centre Travel Group, Corporate Traveller specialises in providing business travel management services regionally to clients across the UK.

Corporate Traveller has offices in 20 city and town locations nationwide and is the largest and only UK travel management company delivering online and offline services purely for this client sector.

Its travel consultants operate in small teams personally managing the travel needs of their locally-based clients.

As a result of Flight Centre Travel Group’s £10 billion global negotiation strength, we can give our clients access to unrivalled airfares, hotel rates and product options not normally available to companies with an SME business travel spend.

Paul Longman, team manager of Corporate Traveller Oxford and his team have had an exceptionally busy start to the year as a result of storms and Coronavirus.

Corporate Traveller Assist, which operates 24/7, has had 10 times the number of usual calls.

Mr Longman and his team have been working around the clock to make sure clients reach their destination by re-routing flights, often grabbing the last seats, changing car hire and hotel rooms and negotiating refunds.

Mr Longman said: “I had a group of doctors who were flying to Lusaka for a one-day convention on the Sunday when Storm Ciara hit.

“Their flight was cancelled, so he had to change the flights to BA, which was still operating, and his client was able to make their original connection.”

Earlier this week a group attending an optical conference in Milan decided to cancel, as Italy becomes the latest country to be affected by the Coronavirus.

As the hotel they were due to stay in is a preferred supplier, staff were able to get a full refund, despite the hotel rooms ostensibly being non refundable.

Corporate Traveller is based at 9-10 Queen Street, Oxford, above Flight Centre.
