AN ELDERLY pensioner died on New Year's Eve after she was burnt by hot running bath water.
An inquest at Oxford Coroner's Court on Wednesday revealed that 92-year-old Enid Godfrey, who was a retired sales assistant, was taking a bath at her home in Headington on the morning of December 31 last year.

But the bath water was so hot that it had left her with burn marks all over her body.
The head coroner Darren Salter said the official cause of death was scolding injuries and heart disease.
A full inquest into her death, which will answer how, when and why she died, has been scheduled for May 20.
