A MAN caught with wraps of heroin and cocaine outside a city pub has been cleared of trying to sell them.

Andrew Adams had always denied two counts alleging possession with intent to supply class A drugs but admitted possessing the banned substances.

The 31-year-old of Luther Street, Oxford, was cleared of the drug dealing counts at the end of his trial at Oxford Crown Court today.

During the short case prosecutors said Adams was spotted by police outside an Oxford pub in the early hours of November 24 2017.

Adams was near the doorway to the Cow and Creek pub, New Road, with other individuals.

Jurors were told that police believed Adams 'was supplying drugs' while outside the pub.

He was arrested and found to have in his possession £90 in cash and two mobile phones.

Adams was also found to have a total of four wraps of class A drugs - made up of one wrap of heroin and three wraps of cocaine.

After just 45 minutes jurors cleared him of intending to supply drugs and he was sentenced for possessing them.

Adams was jailed for one month for the counts of possession and he must pay a victim surcharge.

As he has already served more than one month in prison during proceedings he will now be released.
