A NEW study has revealed that Oxford is the third most expensive city to live, in terms of how much rent takes up a worker's salary.

Oxford came in third with an average of 32 per cent of earnings spent on rent, jobs site Adzuna found.

London is the most expensive city to live, with an average of 53 per cent of a salary spent on renting a property, with Brighton just nipping in ahead of Oxford (36 per cent).

Bradford was said to be the best value city, with rental prices accounting for just over 9 per cent of the average pay of a resident.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, said: "These numbers definitely point towards more migration out of London in the coming months and years as the capital becomes increasingly unaffordable."
