FRIENDS of the Earth campaigners in Oxford are inviting people to attend an open day tomorrow to set the agenda for campaigning over the next 12 months.

The event will take place at the Environmental Change Institute on South Parks Road from 1pm to 4.30pm.

The group has been active in the city for over 40 years and its campaigns mainly focus on tackling climate change, reducing air and plastic pollution, protecting nature, and include transport and planning issues.

Activities cover a wide spectrum – from public meetings and stalls to large initiatives and network building.

In November the group welcomed the announcement that a future Conservative government would review sections of the proposed Oxford to Cambridge Expressway. The announcement came from transport minister Grant Shapps.
