Dear Editor,

I am a northerner working in Oxford for just a few weeks, and am very surprised at so many pro-EU events on January 31 organised, it seems, by the Labour city council.

I, like many working class people in the north, voted Conservative at the General Election for the first time in my life because the Labour Party were not going to honour the referendum result that we voted for.

Souther Labour is not interested in our views and treats us with contempt.

Until this attitude changes many of us will not rejoin the Labour fold, and the result will be that there will not be a Labour government in this country in the near future.

Thank you.
