A CANDLELIT vigil was held this evening in the city centre to protest a deportation flight to Jamaica planned for tomorrow.
Organised by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, people were due to gather at Carfax Tower from 5.30pm.
The group said the Home Office intended to operate a charter flight to Kingston, Jamaica tomorrow, with space for up to 50 people who had been served with Removal Directions.

It stated: "Many of those facing deportation have been residents in the UK for decades and have close family ties."
The group said it was concerned about the flight following the Windrush scandal and it believed vulnerable people may be on board.
