A person has died on the train tracks near Beaconsfield Railway Station during rush hour this morning. 

Emergency services including Bucks Fire, British Transport Police and Thames Valley Police descended on the railway station at around 8.30am after receiving reports of a casualty on the tracks. 

Sadly the person was pronounced dead. They have not yet been formally identified.

The overbridge on Station Road in Beaconsfield New Town has been shut off to vehicles and pedestrians and is likely to remain that way for some hours yet. 

There are also no trains running between High Wycombe and Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield Railway Station is shut. 

Chiltern Railways warned that trains could be delayed, cancelled or altered at the last minute while emergency services are on the scene. 

A spokesman for British Transport Police told the Bucks Free Press: "At 8.37am on 27 January, officers were called to Beaconsfield station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.

"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
