Wallingford sports park has put in a planning application to add a canopy to the sports club building.

The proposals include the erection of a canopy, alterations to existing doors and

windows including landscaping works to the surrounding grounds.

In the design and access statement by Adrian Aldred, it said: “The proposals are intended to provide direct access to the rugby and hockey club areas for players and spectators.”

The statement adds: “Direct access onto the landscaped area would also be beneficial to the general use of the facility.”

The sports park will also put ramps on the outside doors for the rugby and the hockey club rooms to improve accesses.

The Wallingford Sports Trust was founded over 30 years ago as a registered charity.

The sports park provides a space for sports clubs and also for community groups and functions with approximately 2500 users a week.
