TWO people have been left with 'serious' injuries after a car crashed into a tree in Kidlington. 

Banbury Road was closed for most of Sunday morning while emergency services attended and the vehicle was moved.

Images shared by Martin Hepworth on social media showed the badly damaged silver car being lifted away from the tree.

David Gallagher from South Central Ambulance Service said a 999 call was received at 4.22am on Sunday.

He said the caller reported a car had left the road and hit a tree.

Two ambulances and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle to the scene.

Mr Gallagher added: "There were two patients who had sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and following initial treatment at the scene they were both taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital."

The road was blocked by police until around 11.20am.
