DEMONSTRATORS were out in force at Oxford's Bonn Square to protest America's bombing of Libya in April 1986.
Peace campaigners gathered at the city centre square before lining High Street.
The movement was part of a national 'snowball civil disobedience campaign' with 36 co-ordinated protests taking place.
Protestors called on the government to end nuclear weapons and vowed a wave of protests.
A spokesperson for Campaign Atom in Oxford told this newspaper at the time that protestors 'fully expected to be arrested while carrying out the protests.'
The wave of protests reportedly put a strain on Thames Valley Police's resources at the time in policing the demonstrations.
