A MAN charged with making 1,000 indecent images of children as well as having extreme pornography will appear at court.

Jake Mohan-Triggle will appear for the first time at Oxford Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The 30-year-old of Warren Hill, Stadhampton, faces four counts alleging that he made numerous indecent images of children and had an extreme pornographic image.

It is claimed that Mohan-Triggle made 56 banned images of children in category A - the highest category.

Prosecutors further claim that he made 684 indecent images of children in category B and a further 260 images in category C.

The total alleged haul represents 1,000 images and the offences are all alleged to have taken place on November 8 last year.

As well as the claims of making indecent images of children he also faces one count of possessing an extreme pornographic images.

It is claimed that he had an image which portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a live animal - namely a dog - which was grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character.

All of the four charges are either-way offences, which means they can be heard either before magistrates or at the upper court - Oxford Crown Court.

Mohan-Triggle has not yet entered a plea to any of the charges that he faces.

At the first listing, which will be held at Oxford Magistrates' Court tomorrow, it will be decided whether the case should be heard at the lower or upper court.

The maximum penalty before magistrates for charges of making indecent images is a jail term of up to six months as well as an unlimited fine.
