FOUR teenagers - one aged 16 - have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in Didcot.

UPDATE: One of the teenagers has since been released without charge

At 3.46am on Thursday three men were injured during a fight at Mendip Heights.

One of the men - who police have not named but has been locally identified as Darren Maccormick; affectionately known as 'Dizzy' - sustained multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

The two other victims, both men, one in his twenties and another in his thirties, have since been released from hospital.

Last night as part of a major Thames Valley Police investigation four teenagers were arrested in connection.

An 18-year-old man from Didcot, a 19-year-old man from Oxford, an 18-year-old man from Bicester and a 16-year-old boy from Milton Keynes were all arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

The older three remain in police custody, but the 16-year-old has since been released without charge.

 

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Blaik, said: "This is a fast moving investigation and we are continuing to pursue a number of enquiries.
