NEIGHBOURS have reacted to a heavy police and forensics presence in a residential area in Didcot.

Officers have been in the Mendip Heights area today dealing with a serious incident.

It has since been revealed that a man was stabbed to death and a murder investigation has been launched.

Two other victims were taken to hospital in serious conditions.

Florim Daraban, who lives nearby, said: ''I don't know what happened - in the night it was very quiet, I didn't hear anything.

"It was a surprise to see. I've been here for two years and it's been alright for all that time. This is very strange, to close the road.

"Some young police guys told me they don't know how long they will be here - it could be two hours, three hours, nobody knows - maybe more."

Another neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "You hear of these things happening but you don't think it's going to be on your doorstep.

"It [the estate] used to be a bit rough years ago but it's ever so nice now."
