The Wallingford Historical and Archaeological Society (TWHAS) will be holding a talk all about Penicillin.
On January 8 at 8pm, at St Mary’s Church, Wallingford, TWHAS will be asking whether the discovery of Penicillin is simply down to Fleming.

Although Fleming first observed and named penicillin in 1945, TWHAS say it was Florey, Chain and a group of scientists working in Oxford who developed it into a viable drug.
The talk will tell the story of the life saving work carried out in the Dunn School, the wartime struggles the scientists faced and the experiences of the first patients to be treated with penicillin.
The educational talk, Oxford's Penicillin will cost £4 for visitors.
