CHILDREN’S author and illustrator Gwen Brookes will be exhibiting her artwork at the Cornerstone in Didcot after taking her career in a new direction.
Gwen Brookes is best known for the Berthe the Witch series of books for children learning French or Spanish, but now she's tackling something new.

Ms Brookes was only introduced to pastels four years ago and since then specialises in pictures of animals.
The exhibition will show pastel artwork of birds, big cats and dogs.
Ms Brookes commented on her change in direction from being an author to an artist and said: “The illustrations for the Berthe books were fun to do, but I find working with pastels very relaxing.”

The exhibition will be at the Cornerstone in Didcot from January 7 to 19 and the original artwork will be available to buy, as well as copies of the Berthe the Witch series of books.
