IT'S been the most festive week in the calender, but between the parties, the food and the TV specials, you’ve still found time to comment on our stories.

From supermarkets running out of turkeys, to the ongoing debate for youngsters to get the vote – here are the controversial, questionable and interesting comments you left on our website this week.

On Christmas eve, shoppers took to social media to share their anger after their Christmas shopping was delivered – but without a turkey.

Oxford Mail:

Dozens of people messaged supermarkets over the delivery blunders after some didn’t get the turkey and others were left with outrageous substitutes – like drumsticks.

Here’s what you said:

• I love this town honest: "That’s why mums gone to Iceland."

• 426mountaingoat: "I don’t know how we are going to survive Christmas – Waitrose had no avocados, no keenwah and no hummus. Disaster darling."

• CarMick: "That’ll teach all the lazy arse online shoppers."

• John Percival: "I hear a ghost has been going around stealing them. I reckon it’s a poultrygeist."

• GonadTheBarbarian: "First world problems. Tis the season..."

This week we also revealed that two Oxfordshire councils have given their support to lowering the voting age to 16-year-olds in the future, hot on the heels of the general election.

Oxford Mail:

South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse district councils agreed to send letters to the government supporting the move.

But you didn’t all agree – here’s what you said on Facebook...

• Julia Anderson: "Why is there such a rush to make children grow up they have absolutely no understanding of how the real world works."

• Tim Harwood: "I thought the vote in the UK was Fantastic, I still find it funny the little bit of Red and Orange in the world of beautiful Blue."

• Sue Hewitt: "Absolutely not! Some of them can’t even boil an egg!!"

• Simone Proffitt: "What a load of tosh!! Why is this question coming out now? Hmmm, something else in the agenda, if you ask me."

And then, there was the ethical dilemma about leaving a tip at Christmas.

Oxford Mail:

Pat Ross of Headington emailed us directly to say: "Neurologists state that the human brain does not mature cognitively until it reaches the age of 25 years. Therefore no one under the age of 25 should be allowed to vote or drive."

Then there was the ethical dilemma about leaving a tip at Christmas.

Whether its the paperboy, binmen, hairdresser or waitress – its something that may not occur to us.

Here’s what you said:

• Sprouts are for all year round: "Leavers tip, Remainers moan about tipping."

• Stayingafloat: "Bin men coming over here and taking our rubbish..."

• Lucien D: "NO BLOODY WAY"

• BiggDogg: "A tip isn’t for being perfect, its for service that is over the expected."
