FIRE crews were wished a Merry Christmas by residents after quickly putting out a car fire in an Oxford street.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service posted a picture on Facebook of smoke coming from the white car in Newman Road, near Littlemore Roundabout, yesterday.

It stated: "Today Green Watch from Slade Road Fire Station attended a car fire in Newman Road, Oxford, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus soon had the fire under control.
"The local community thanked the crew for their swift response and wished them all a Merry Christmas."
