INSPIRATIONAL figures in Oxfordshire have been given national recognition in the New Year Honours list 2020.

The list was published tonight and names more than 20 people who live in or have links to the county, including a knighthood for the former Thames Valley Police chief and a damehood for Oxford professor Sarah Whatmore.
