THAMES Valley Police were out on patrol in Witney town centre yesterday as part of Operation Jingle.
The patrol is an attempt to deter shoplifting and bag thefts.
Neighbourhood officers have been actively patrolling the town centre throughout December.

Officers across the country have taken part in Operation Jingle, with disrupting the seasonal increase in shoplifting and anti-social behaviour and improving public safety top of officers' concerns.
Purse bells have been given to the public to help prevent handbag thefts and make the public feel safer when Christmas shopping.
