TWO teenagers have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was threatened with a knife and extendable baton during a robbery.

It took place some time between 3.35pm and 4pm at Watery Lane leading onto The Bourne in Hook Norton, near Banbury, on Tuesday, December 17.

Thames Valley Police, in an appeal for witnesses to the incident, said the 16-year-old boy was threatened with the weapons and then there was a fight in which he was chased by the two thieves onto The Bourne.

Police said he was left with cuts and bruises but did not need hospital treatment.

Two boys, both aged 17, from Chipping Norton and Hook Norton have been arrested and bailed on suspicion of robbery.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lorna Briggs based at Banbury police station, urged residents not to 'speculate' about what happened, stating: "This investigation is ongoing but is being treated as an isolated incident.

"I would like to thank the community for their help but would ask that people refrain from speculating about what happened and who is involved.
