FIREFIGHTERS were alerted to a fire in Bicester yesterday morning.
A cooker had been left on in a kitchen in a flat in Kings End and items had fallen onto it which caught fire.
Crews from Bicester Fire Station were alerted just after 11am thanks to a smoke detector in the hallway which raised the alarm.

Equipped with breathing apparatus, they were able to extinguish the blaze before ventilating the flat.
The fire service reminds people that at this time of year it is easy to get distracted whilst cooking and urges people to have a look at its tips to prevent cooking fires and take extra care.
