A SHOPPING outlet has helped boost the sale of homes in a town in Oxfordshire.

Housebuilder Bovis Homes has managed to attract househunters to its properties due to their location close to Bicester Village.

The site is on the Kingsmere estate which lies adjacent to the designer outlet and three-bedroom homes are proving to be very popular at the site.

Sales advisor at Bovis Homes in Kingsmere, Gyorgy Dohnal, said: “Bicester Village is a huge draw and we are right next to the park and ride. There are great transport links to Oxford and London. We’re also very close to the countryside and there are some great schools nearby.

“We have some homes from our new range and the Government’s Help to Buy scheme is proving particularly popular."

Bicester Village, a major UK tourist attraction, is home to more than 160 boutiques from world leading designers and offers discounts all year round.

Bovis Homes, which started building in 2011, has sold houses to people who work at Bicester Village and many who have moved to the town.

Its new builds in Bicester are part of the wider Kingsmere development which started back in 2010 to provide 1,500 new homes on a 287-acre site.

So far Bovis Homes has built more than 300 homes at Kingsmere and it has nearly 100 homes left to build.

The wider project includes a £40m spend on local infrastructure, including a new bypass, public transport and education services including Kingsmere Primary School which is currently being built.

Kingsmere will soon be home to Bicester Shopping Park which is set to open next Spring on the outskirts of the site and will include a Nike, M&S Food Store, Pure Gym, Next and phone shop EE.

Its first convenience store, The Co-operative, opened in June and its community centre - which is being used by many local groups in Bicester - was built last September.

Properties from Bovis Homes’ new collection are named after British trees such as Kenilwoth, Beech and Aspen and focus on well proportioned exteriors with a real sense of light and flow on the inside.

With the Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme, home buyers need a five per cent cash deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property being bought.

Purchasers can then secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage.

Bovis Homes is also selling properties in Heyford Park, which is a housing estate in Upper Heyford, near Bicester.

The three, four and five-bedroom properties are proving popular there too and the developer has spent more than £4.2million towards local projects, including a new primary school, bus service and sports facilities.
