The Christmas season is officially upon us, and what better way to get in the festive spirit than a family visit to one of Santa’s grotto’s here in Bucks.

With such incredible grotto’s locally there’s no need to go all the way to Lapland this year, and here are the five which our readers voted as the best in the county.

1) Eden’s Elf School, High Wycombe -This was a popular choice. One reader said: “ Eden’s Elf School is the best the town’s had for years. There’s pre-event activities to build up the anticipation (including craft, topping up the reindeer’s food bucket and sorting Santa’s mail). There’s elf indoctrination (reciting the code, assigning an elf name, donning a free elf hat and having your cheeks rosied). And the Santa is absolutely brilliant with the kids. properly interacting rather than re-hashing the “what do you want for xmas” routine (which let’s face it only builds up your child’s expectations when the parent hasn’t got/can’t afford what they ask for!). The decor, props and atmosphere tops off an awesome experience and hope that Eden continue this idea every year!"

2) Odds Farm Park, Wooburn Green - This ones always a favourite! One reader said: “I took my three children there last weekend and as well as meeting Santa, you get to build a fluffy toy and pick a toy from the toyshop. The Santa was fantastic, and the elves in particular were very in character and helpful!”
