TO join in with election day, Birchwood Community High School pupils held their own ballot with Labour coming out on top.
Pupils watched news broadcasts about the election and held discussions before casing their votes.
Labour received 188 votes, equalling 49 per cent.
Conservatives and Liberal Democrats had just one vote between them with 52 and 51, followed closely by the Green Party and the Brexit Party with 42 and 47 votes.
Deputy head teacher, John Burnham, decided to run the vote as a way for young people to get involved and have their say.
