PEOPLE in Wantage have been warned to be on guard against 'Nottingham knockers'.
Thames Valley Police said today on social media it had received reports of the scammers targeting the town.

They are door-to-door traders who try to sell cheap goods, and will often pretend to be on a rehabilitation scheme.
They are believed to make a note of vulnerable people to target in the future.
People are advised to call 999 if they feel threatened and to report any suspected 'Nottingham knockers' to police on 101.
