A WIRRAL gin company has joined forces with the Royal Liver Building (RLB) 360 to create a bespoke trio of gins.

Tourist attraction RLB 360 has partnered with Bromborough based The Handmade Gin Company to create the special edition gins called Bella, Bertie and Nineteen Eleven to mark the iconic building's 108th anniversary.

Named after the famous Liver Birds, Bella is infused with fruit salad sweets and glitter while Bertie emanates a crisp apple and elderflower flavour.

While Nineteen Eleven, named after the year that the building opened, is a classic, dry gin which is easy to drink and has a taste of nutmeg.

All bottles come complete with a Liver Bird bottle top which has been designed by local artists The Jones Boys.

The collaboration from The Handmade Gin Company and the RLB 360 has proved to be a remarkable success with orders flooding in from as far as Australia.

Operations Manager for the RLB 360, Chris Devaney told the Globe: "We opened the RLB 360 and thought we would create a bespoke product to mark the anniversary.

"My background is in hospitality so gin felt like the perfect fit for us. We shopped around and found Claire from The Handmade Gin Company in Wirral.

Wirral Globe:

"We then set about creating three gins to symbolise the Liver Building - Bella and Bertie plus Nineteen Eleven, the name of this gin was decided after a Facebook competition.

"We had seen a Liver Bird bottle stop being created by local artists The Jones Boys and the rest is history. It is so important to us to keep our product local. The Liver Building is so iconic and it seems everyone wants a piece of it.

"We have had orders from across the globe, with people buying it online or in our shop and taking it back home with them as a memento of their time in the city.

"A mini gin gift set has also been launched just in time for Christmas and this is available at our lower ground floor retail shop.

"The shop is great and there is plenty of custom gin classes and little trinkets along with our gin collection.

"It's really amazing to bring these products to life.

"There are discussions to expand the range perhaps with a new product, watch this space."

RLB 360 brings guided public tours to the 15th floor of Liverpool’s most iconic landmark for the very first time.

The experience begins in a new lower ground floor visitor centre where the building’s unique history starts to come to life, before continuing to the 10th and 15th floors of the 321ft building where guests will enjoy spectacular 360° views across the city of Liverpool and River Mersey.

Operated by Heritage Great Britain, the tour will also take guests inside the building’s famous clock tower where they can watch an immersive audio-visual experience, projected digitally onto the walls around them.
