AN APPEAL has been issued by Thames Valley Police to report drink drivers as the Christmas party season gets into full swing.

The force tweeted on Saturday a warning over drink driving, saying: "It's that time of year again where we see an increase in drink/drug driving and lives ruined by people who decide to risk it.

"We encourage you to report drink/drug drivers."

People are asked to report online, call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 55511. For an immediate risk then the advice is to call 999.

Police also launched Operation Holly last week which will see officers carrying out breath tests, drug tests and impairment tests at the roadside on motorists, to deter anyone from getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.
