A DRUG dealer caught after reports of a field rave has been spared jail.

Daniel Lythgoe, of Preston Road, Abingdon, appeared at Oxford Crown Court for sentencing yesterday after admitting dealing cocaine and ketamine.

The 25-year-old was caught after reports of a rave near Abingdon on April 29 last year.

Police were called because of complaints about noise from a farmer's field and when they arrived they saw Lythgoe with a white powder around his nostrils.

Prosecutors said that when he was interrogated by police about suspected drug use he answered 'I have coke and Ketamine around my b**locks.'

Armed with that information officers discovered a small haul of drugs totalling 1.95g of the class B drug and 4.39g of the class A drug.

He was also found to have a set of weighing scales.

In mitigation at yesterday's hearing his defence barrister Clare Evans said that her client suffered from ADHD and had developed a drugs habit.

She added that Lythgoe was 'keen to cease all illegal drug taking.'

Sentencing Judge Ian Pringle QC jailed him for a total of two years, suspended for two years.

He was also handed a 12-month drug rehabilitation requirement and 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
