GLOUCESTER Green Market is offering free stalls for 15 small businesses from Oxford on Small Business Saturday.

The market, which is run by LSD Promotions on behalf of Oxford City Council, will provide up to 15 spaces for small businesses on Saturday.

Businesses will receive a free space – on a stall provided by LSD Promotions. Traders will only need to bring their wares.

The offer, which will be run on a first-come-first-serve basis, is open to anyone who runs a small business in the city providing food, drink or retail.

Alongside supporting Small Business Saturday, the offer aims to provide Oxford’s small businesses with the opportunity to test their enterprise.

The hope is that this could encourage the businesses to take up a permanent stall in Gloucester Green Market in the future – and then maybe take a stall in the Covered Market if they continue to grow.

The council has also let a unit in the Covered Market to Independent Oxford to act as a space to nurture small businesses.

The unit, called Indie Oxford Market Place, features a collection of 20 independent and local businesses.

Small Business Saturday, run nationwide, highlights small business success.
