A SCHEME which supports local projects in Witney will be running for a fourth year.

The Witney Lions Dream Scheme will be sharing out £3000 to various causes.

Last year, 12 groups received funding to help them with their projects.

These causes included the purchasing of fitness equipment in order to run classes for the elderly at Witney Day Centre and New Yatt Riding for the Disabled were able to acquire three adjustable riding hats for junior riders.

Phil Birkett, publicity officer for Witney Lions, said: “The schemes are trying to make a real difference to the lives of people in our community.”

The 2019-20 Dream Scheme will be partly funded from the Lions’ 2019 Christmas float collections around the town.

So that the money can be spread amongst as many people as possible, applications for smaller amounts are more likely to be approved.

Application forms can be obtained by emailing: dreamscheme@witneylions.org.uk

All completed applications must be submitted to The Lions Club by Friday 24th January 2020.
