A PRIMARY school in Witney will be stepping into the wardrobe to celebrate its annual lantern procession next month.

This year is the sixth annual procession that Leafield C.E. Primary School will hold and ties in with an exciting Narnia theme.

It is very much The Lantern, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Children at Leafield have made this year's lanterns with the help of Oxfordshire artist Emily Cooling.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The children are really excited, they've been making the lanterns as part of their DT lessons.

“We look forward to this every year.”

The festivities are scheduled for 4 December at 5:30pm.

The procession will commence with the switching on of the village Christmas tree lights.

The group will then head to St Michaels church for carols and refreshments.

The school is inviting the community to join in by meeting on the green by the Christmas tree.
