TWO dancing Police Community Support Officers were caught on camera at the Christmas lights switch-on by EastEnders’ Cindy Beale.

Actress Michelle Collins, who played the Albert Square favourite between 1988 and 1998, was in Swindon town centre for the annual Christmas lights event on Saturday night. Ms Collins will play villain Carabosse in this year’s Wyvern Theatre pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

She spotted the two Wiltshire Police officers enjoying JLS man Aston Merrygold’s headline set – dancing along to the music with moves best described as a freestyle running man.

Ms Collins, 58, posted a video of the pair to Twitter with the message: “I love this @inswindon today. Two policewomen enjoying themselves.”

One man replied: “This is brilliant. Well done, ladies.”

Only one person suggested she “wished they were doing police stuff instead”.

But another Twitter user leapt to the PCSOs’ defence, asking: “Who says they were not doing their job…but just making the most of it? Good on them!”

Later in the evening the PCSOs put their dance warm-up to good use when they rushed to reports of an assault at McDonald’s. The initial reports of an assault later turned out to be a misunderstanding.
