Prince Charles has celebrated his 71st birthday in style by being made Fellow of Oxford University's newest college.

The Prince of Wales received the news on his birthday, on Thursday, that he is to become a Fellow of Kellogg College, a graduate college at the university, where he will occupy the role of Bynum Tudor Fellow throughout the academic year.

Oxford Mail:

Kellogg College was founded in 1990 and it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, with a royal seal of approval.

The college, which has premises in Banbury Road and Bradmore Road, has more than 1,000 students from 90 different countries – and now a member of the Royal Family as a Fellow.

The Prince said: "It gives me great pride and pleasure to accept the Bynum Tudor Fellowship this year, and I would like to express my particular gratitude to Kellogg College in presenting me with this significant honour."

Oxford Mail:

The Prince supports the Kellogg College through his organisation The Prince's Foundation, which aims to create harmonious communities.

The foundation helped Kellogg launch its Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation, working to tackle health and wellbeing issues world-wide.
