A PRIVATE girls' school in Oxford has been shortlisted for a prestigious education award.

Headington School is in the running for the TES Independent Schools Awards 2020, in the category of creativity.

The award recognises schools that ‘put creativity at the heart of their work’ and make children think differently, beyond the curriculum.

Next September, the school plans to open its Centre for Creativity and Innovation.

Cothill House school near Abingdon has also been shortlisted, in the technology category.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London in February.
