THE search is on for businesses to compete in a Dragon’s Den-style ‘live crowdfunding’ when Oxfordshire Soup returns to Activate Learning in Oxford
The aim of the Oxpens Road event on Friday, December 6 is to help small businesses by awarding a cash prize for the winner of a pitching competition.
They are on the lookout for SMEs under three years old and turning over less than £70,000 to apply to take part in a ‘pitch contest’ where the audience votes for their favourite.
The winner walks away with the takings from ticket sales.
Tina Marshall, who launched the idea, said: “We want to hear from people running a business who can make use of a pot of money.”

She added: "Anyone can join the audience. We’ve found that people really enjoy seeing the determination and entrepreneurial flair shown by the people taking part.”
Applications for the next pitch contest have to be made by Sunday.
