A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision yesterday morning.
South Central Ambulance Service received multiple 999 calls around 8.40am all reporting a crash between a van and a cyclist on High Street in Oxford.
An ambulance was sent to the scene and the crew reported that the cyclist had sustained a serious head injury.
Following initial treatment, they were then taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Magdalen Bridge was completely closed to westbound traffic shortly before 9am.
Two fire engines and a police car were also at the scene, and one passer-by said he saw a van cordoned off with police tape.
