AN old pub site in a town in Oxfordshire has undergone a complete transformation following a major investment worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Aptly named, The Lamb Inn on Sheep Street has taken over former pub, The Saxon, in Bicester.

The venue, which officially opened last Thursday afternoon, has had a £300,000 refurbishment and it is hoped that it will become the town’s ‘go-to’ pub.

Locals can expect a 'cosy and homely' feel, 'warm and inviting' colours and 'comfy' dining seats, as well as al-fresco dining options, bric-a-brac and graphic artwork.

TVs have been installed for those who want to watch sporting events where guests can view all the action live, pint in hand, either at the main bar or at one of the booths that have individual screens which can be booked.

Oxford Mail:

The pub has opened with a drinks menu offering locals a choice of cask and real ales, guest ciders and a selection of spirits such as Hendrick’s Summer Solstice, Beefeater Blood Orange and Verano Watermelon gin.

For those in the party mood, party bowls and cocktails await whether your favourite is the Pornstar Martini, Singapore Sling or Mojito.

Low and non-alcoholic choices are also on offer at the new pub.

The Lamb Inn also has a food menu serving pub classics including 'build-your-own' burgers, pies and fish and chips.

Vegetarians and vegans are not missed out as there are also vegetarian and plant-based dishes like meat-free tikka masala and meat-free sausage rolls.

Claire French, general manager of The Lamb Inn, said: “This exciting investment has totally transformed the look and feel of the venue, and we are excited to unveil our pub to new and returning customers in Bicester.

"Whether it’s a daytime pint to watch the sport or coming to enjoy a family Sunday roast, The Lamb Inn will be a warm and welcoming pub that the whole community can enjoy.”
