GIANT interactive light and sound installations will be projected onto an Oxford building to showcase researchers work.

The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH) will host the Oxford Research Unwrapped event, called Humanities Light Night, which will also features talks, plus food and drink on Friday.

It will be an explosion of colour, sound and activity for all, including a huge video projection onto the three-storey Radcliffe humanities building.

It will feature the work of Oxford University humanities Professors Jacob Dahl, Richard Parkinson and Armand D'Angour, and co-created with The Projection Studio, world-class projection and sound-artists.

There will be activities, talks and performances throughout the evening for all ages led by groups of researchers and students.

Dr Vicky McGuinness, head of research partnerships at TORCH said: "It will be wonderful to welcome so many people to be part of the Humanities Cultural Programme - being able to connect the public with research is so important for the Humanities and we are looking forward to a fabulous night."

Humanities Light Night - Oxford Research Unwrapped will be taking place on Friday 15, November at the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, from 6pm to 10pm.

The event is also part of Oxford Christmas Light Festival 2019.
