NINE new holiday apartments are set to be created in a picturesque village close to Oxford.
A planning application has been made to build the units at Home Farm on the Nuneham Park Estate about five miles south of the city.
The development would require the demolition of existing sheds, a conversion of an old cottage into a holiday let, the construction of two new buildings and the provision of parking spaces as well as landscaping.

The application states this would be a good opportunity to restore the ‘neglected and degraded’ buildings and improve the local economy.
However this might prove difficult as the site is subject to a number of restrictions, including being in the Nuneham Courtenay Conservation Area and the Grade I-listed park and garden.
The site is also within the Oxford Green Belt and close to other listed buildings.

The estate, rich in heritage assets, encompasses over 1,000 acres of South Oxfordshire countryside and was bought by the current owners from the University of Oxford Endowment Fund in 2017.
Previous reports from consultants note that many of the assets on the traditional home complex are in ‘derelict or in very poor condition’.
