A DUTCH-STYLE floral wreath will be laid in Leiden Square in Oxford's Westgate Centre in memory of those who have died in war.

The ceremony will be performed at 11am on Saturday by the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Craig Simmons, and Henri Lenferink, Burgomaster of Leiden, Oxford's twin city in the Netherlands.

It will take place around the Oxford-Leiden mosaic in the centre of the square, which recognises Oxford's oldest twin city link established in 1946.

A traditional poppy wreath will also be laid by twin city member and former serviceman Brian Hawtin.

The English and Dutch national anthems will be sung and there will also be a performance by members of Oxford’s Vivace choir.
