A DEFIBRILLATOR has been installed outside offices along a busy route in Witney.

The life-saving device was funded by a £1,800 grant donation from the Travis Perkins Legacy Fund and is the first in Station Lane. It has been fitted at the front of Cottsway Housing's offices in Heynes Place, Avenue Two, and is available for anyone to use anytime.

The new device adds to Witney’s defibrillator coverage, with the closest other defibrillators installed at The Leys Recreation Ground and Windrush Leisure Centre.

Emma Hodgetts, facilities officer for Cottsway Housing, said: “As a housing association, we're committed to supporting local communities and take our social responsibility very seriously. We’re really pleased to have been able to install this potentially life-saving defibrillator and would like to thank Travis Perkins for their support.

"This is the first defibrillator in Station Lane and we think it’s really important for people to have access to this, with thousands of people working on the nearby industrial parks or passing through every day.”

Martyn Piper, account manager at Travis Perkins Managed Services, said: "We hope this defibrillator will help save lives and is a reassurance to all the residents.”
