PROPOSALS to demolish a house in Wolvercote and replace it with five others have been submitted to Oxford City planners.

The plans would see the house at 20 Blenheim Drive in Wolvercote demolished to make way for two homes with five bedrooms each, and three homes with three bedrooms each.

There is also room for car parking, a shared access driveway, bin and bicycle storage, and landscaping works.

The plans were submitted to Oxford City Council last week and now a public consultation will take place, with residents and authorities asked to give their opinions on then.

The current house at 20 Blenheim Drive is set back from the road along a lane, and has a large garden surrounding the property to the north east and south west.

A design and access statement for the plan said: “This situation means that both the plot and garden are very private and secluded in nature.

“The house is not immediately apparent when approached from the wider public realm.”

The public consultation is open until November 28, with residents and organisations with an interest in the site invited to submit their comments in support or objections.
