DRIVERS are reportedly leaving their cars in a restricted area after the repeated disappearance of a no-parking sign.

In a complaint left on the FixMyStreet website yesterday, a passerby said the sign had been 'removed again' outside Queen's Lane Coffee Shop in Oxford High Street and 'cars are there all day as there is no sign to stop them.'

They wrote: "This has been ongoing over time - when it goes back up, then someone removes it.

"When coming out of Queen's Lane it's very hard to see traffic coming on both sides when buses stop."

The sign, shown on Google Maps, appears to restrict parking between the hours of 6am and 6.30am.

A response to the complaint said Oxfordshire County Council is investigating.

The same person filed a similar problem on the website in August, after which the council said 'the replacement sign has already been ordered' and 'no further action' would be taken.
