A student from Denham won a top prize at her college’s annual awards.
Klaudia Piorkowska attends Uxbridge College and was awarded the top award in her department of health, social care and creative arts as well as the Super Star Award which is the overall prize for the whole college.
Klaudia was recognised for her academic achievements progressing from level 1 in Health and Social Care to level 3.
She was also awarded due to her contributions to the wider community.
Kluadia is a mental health ambassador so regularly supports other students, and additionally supports and raises awareness of issues such as homelessness.
Klaudia said: “I am so happy to receive the award, I cannot believe I was chosen from the whole college!”
Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Limited of High Denham was also recognised, winning the Apprentice Employer Award.
The company has the highest number of mechanical engineering apparentices than any other employer working with the college.
Principal of the college, Dr Darrell DeSouza, said: “Our winners are all different whether they’ve overcome the odds to progress up the ladder of qualifications within the college, gone on to university thanks to their A Levels or BTECs, or learned or gained formal recognition of professional skills.
“One thing they’ve certainly got in common though is that we think they’re amazing! A massive congratulations to everyone!”
