TENS of thousands of pensioners in Oxfordshire have never used the internet, a new report has revealed.
Statistics detailed in the updated Joint Strategic Needs Assessment for Oxfordshire show that an estimated 40,000 people aged 65 or older, who live in the county, will never have accessed the web.

The figure was based on the latest Office for National Statistics data, which shows that nationally, the generation gap online is closing.
Internet use by people aged 65-75 increased from 52 per cent in 2011 to 80 per cent in 2018. For those older than 75, the proportion rose from 20 per cent to 44 per cent.
